Grow and Behold Foods strives to bring you the best possible product that is produced in ways that honor and respect the earth. We scrutinize every step of our production methods to ensure that we keep the waters clean, minimize waste and energy consumption, keep harmful chemicals out of the environment, and avoid genetically modified organisms whenever possible. Sustainability is more than a marketing term for us, it is a way of life that requires hard choices and difficult trade-offs. We don't always have the right answer, but we are always striving to do better. We welcome your comments and questions about our practices and will always answer your questions about why we do it the way we do.

Energy
Grow & Behold powers its offices with wind power. Wind power is a renewable energy, and it means less burning coal into the atmosphere, less greenhouse gasses making for a slightly-less-warming planet. Our cold storage facility uses CFL lightbulbs, is currently implementing a major insulation project to reduce their energy consumption, and has won numerous awards for their pioneering work with natural gas.

Printing
All of our printed materials use recycled paper and soy-based inks. We're proud to print with Greg Barber Company, an environmentally-friendly printer based in New Jersey.

Packaging
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to use only recycled packaging materials. As a small company, we often use larger facilities to process our products, and changing their packaging systems would take a lot of time and cost a lot of money. We don't like using Styrofoam any more than you do, but for now, it's the only way we can get our products to you. We hope that, as we grow, we'll be able to transition to more sustainable packaging and be able to encourage the industry to follow suit!
